Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful, body-based approach to healing trauma, anxiety, and deeply rooted emotional pain.

Using eye position, it taps into the brain’s natural ability to process and release what’s been stuck - especially the things we can’t always name with words.

By focusing on specific “brainspots,” we gently unlock the nervous system and allow for deep integration and release.

What to Expect & How It Can Support Relational Trauma & Anxiety

Brainspotting sessions are grounded in safety, presence, and attunement. This means that we let the body lead, at a pace that feels manageable and contained.

Anxiety often lives in the body: tight chest, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, difficulty relaxing. Brainspotting helps access and release the root causes of anxiety that talk therapy alone can sometimes miss. Here we practice noticing what arises.

For those carrying relational trauma - whether from childhood, toxic relationships, or patterns of emotional disconnection - Brainspotting offers a way to gently process and shift the imprints left behind. It can help repair your internal sense of safety and foster a deeper trust in yourself and in relationships.

Because Brainspotting works on a deeper, neurobiological level, it can support emotional healing even when words feel out of reach or when traditional therapies haven’t gotten to the core.

Who is Brainspotting For?

Brainspotting is a supportive modality for people who:

  • Feel stuck or overwhelmed by anxiety, even after trying other therapies

  • Have experienced trauma - whether acute, chronic, or developmental

  • Struggle with processing emotions or dysregulation in relationships

  • Want a body-centered approach to healing, beyond talking

  • Feel ready to connect more deeply with themselves in a gentle, mindful way

Whether you’re navigating chronic stress, relational wounds, or just know there’s something deeper that wants tending, Brainspotting offers a path toward relief and reconnection—with your body, your emotions, and your sense of self.

Understanding Brainspotting

What it IS

  • A brain-body based therapy that uses eye position to access and process stuck trauma, emotion, or stress in the nervous system.

  • A gentle, somatic approach that respects the pace of your nervous system. It allows for deep healing without needing to retell or relive traumatic memories.

  • A powerful tool for working with anxiety, trauma, relational wounds, chronic stress, and more. It can support change even when traditional talk therapy has plateaued.

  • A way to bypass the “thinking brain” and access the subcortical brain > where trauma, emotion, & survival responses are stored.

  • A deeply attuned process guided by your therapist to help you stay grounded, supported, and safe.

What it IS NOT

  • It’s not hypnosis. You’re fully present & aware during the process - you’re in control the entire time.

  • It’s not about pushing you into emotional overwhelm or forcing disclosure. There’s no pressure to talk or revisit details unless you choose to.

  • It’s not a quick fix or one-size-fits-all solution. Like all deep healing work, it takes time, presence, and trust in the process.

  • It’s not about intellectually analyzing problems. In fact, Brainspotting invites you to feel rather than figure it all out.

  • It’s not something you do alone or without guidance. You won’t be left to navigate intense emotions without support.
